Father, I come to You today not as a beggar asking You to do what You've commanded me to do — but as a commissioned ruler, asking You to witness and confirm my rightful use of authority. I will command the thief today. I expect him to return what he stole. In Jesus' name, amen.
Key Verse: "Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold; he may have to give up all the substance of his house." — Proverbs 6:31
Today's Truth: When the thief is caught, he must repay — sevenfold. You have the authority to catch the thief and demand what he owes you. This is not just permission — it is your royal responsibility.
Rebecca Brown tells the story of a morning in Costa Rica when Daniel woke up with a thunderclap of revelation from the Lord. He had been reflecting on how so many Christians spend their time crying out to God, begging Him to restore what the enemy had stolen from them. And the Lord showed him something that transformed his approach to spiritual warfare:
It is not God who stole from you. It is Satan. And God has given you the authority to command the thief — Satan — to return what he has stolen from you. That is not God's job. That is your job.
This is not an abstract theological distinction. It is a profoundly practical one. If I steal your car, and you spend the next ten years praying to your father to restore your car — while I am still driving it around town — your prayers are misplaced. Your father did not steal the car. The thief did. And if your father has given you the authority to deal with the thief, then dealing with the thief is your responsibility.
Daniel woke Rebecca that morning with the sound of his voice commanding Satan in no uncertain terms to return sevenfold everything he had stolen from him. He was not asking God. He was commanding the thief.
Proverbs 6:30–31 addresses theft with a legal principle that has direct spiritual application: "People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; he may have to give up all the substance of his house."
This is earthly legal principle being applied to spiritual reality. When you catch the thief — when you identify that Satan has been operating as a thief in your life and you confront him with the authority of Jesus Christ — you are entitled to demand sevenfold restoration.
Not just what was stolen. Seven times what was stolen.
If the enemy has stolen ten years of your health, you can demand seventy years of blessing in that area. If he has stolen your financial stability, you can demand sevenfold restoration of resources. If he has stolen your children's faith, you can demand sevenfold — more than what was taken.
This is not prosperity theology. This is covenant law applied to spiritual warfare. The enemy is subject to this principle. He has no defense against a believer who understands the law and who has removed the legal grounds that gave the theft its permission.
There is a critical condition to this principle that Daniel and Rebecca Brown are careful to emphasize. You cannot demand sevenfold restoration while the legal grounds for the theft still exist. If you are demanding restoration while still walking in the sin that gave the enemy legal access, you are demanding restitution from a theft you are still enabling.
The sequence is:
This is not a formula for prosperity — it is a legal process. Every step has purpose. And the sevenfold demand comes only after the legal grounds have been fully removed.
Almost anything can be recovered. The thief steals in every domain of human life — and in every domain, the law of restitution applies. Consider what the enemy has stolen:
Each of these areas is recoverable. Each of them can be demanded back — sevenfold — from the thief who stole them.
Complete the Prerequisites: Before commanding sevenfold restoration, review your work from the last 27 days. Have you: (a) Removed all known legal grounds? (b) Repented of all known sin? (c) Broken the specific curses? (d) Commanded the associated spirits to leave? If any of these are incomplete, address them first.
Make Your Sevenfold List: Create a list of everything the enemy has stolen from you in each domain: health, finances, relationships, time, ministry, joy. Be specific. Be bold. This is your restitution claim.
Command the Thief: Stand and speak this out loud with faith and authority: "Satan, in the name of Jesus Christ, I catch you as the thief who has stolen [name specific areas] from my life. You are caught. The law requires you to restore sevenfold. I command you now, in Jesus' name, to return [name each area] — sevenfold — to me. You have no defense and no right to withhold it."
Ask God to Witness: After commanding the thief, bring your petition before God as well: "Father, I bring before You the command I have given the thief. I ask You to enforce it. Let the restitution be paid. In Jesus' name."
Watch and Record: Begin watching for evidence of restoration. Write down every instance of unexpected financial blessing, restored health, reconciled relationship, or accelerated growth you experience. Build a record of the restitution being paid.
You are not a beggar petitioning a distant landlord. You are a commissioned ruler confronting a caught thief. The thief has no defense before the King. And when you issue the command in the King's name, the King Himself enforces it.
Stop asking God to do what He has given you the authority to do. Stand up. Open your mouth. Command the thief. And then watch with expectation as the King enforces the judgment.
Father, I thank You for this revelation — that I have the authority not just to break curses, but to command restitution. I thank You that the blood of Jesus has given me standing before the King to demand what the thief owes me.
Today I exercise that authority. I have done the work — I have removed the legal grounds, I have broken the curses, I have commanded the spirits to leave. Now I command the thief.
Satan, in the name of Jesus Christ, I command you to return sevenfold everything you have stolen from me — [name specific areas]. You are caught. You are commanded. Restore it now.
Father, I bring this command before Your throne. I ask You to enforce it. Let the restitution flow. Let the restoration come — abundantly, specifically, and soon. In Jesus' name, amen.
Speak this out loud:
"The thief is caught! Satan, in Jesus' name, I command you to restore sevenfold everything you have stolen from me! My health — sevenfold! My finances — sevenfold! My relationships — sevenfold! My time — sevenfold! My joy — sevenfold! You have no defense. You are required by the law of God to repay. I command it now in the name of Jesus Christ, and the Father Himself enforces it. The restoration begins today! In Jesus' name!"
